Time Out for #MILOfest

While freelancing and exploring the possibility of starting an open source consulting company, I came across #MILOfest, or the Macs In Law Offices conference. Macs, like open source, is a niche thing, and this is especially true for the legal profession. I was hard pressed to think of a way to explore a technical niche in the legal sphere. And I’ve gone ever since.

Put on by Victor Medina, who if you don’t know yet, get to know him, the conference offers lively, entertaining presentations on how to use Macs in the law office. Be it MacBooks, iPads, iPhones or a myriad of applications, there’s always a take away from each presentation. I had a hard time whittling last year’s down to a Friday Five for Attorney at Work.

This year’s agenda has the makings of another fantastic conference, and presents a balance of Mac-centric and practice-centric topics. Macs are tools, after all, to aid in the practice of law, and running the business side of a law practice. You’ll come away with practical tips and tricks to get more out of your Mac products as well as making your practice work for you.

MILOfest is Nov. 8-10, 2012 at the Disney Yacht Club Resort. That means there are only 16 days until MILOfest, so check and clear your calendar, and then go register.
