Opportunity: What is Working LinkedIN Group

I confess I’ve been obsessed about the hiring process since I got laid off, and had to endure the redundant, ridiculous process of applying for jobs. Reading through this month’s hiring posts , it occurred to me that hiring strategies are not just limited to solo and small firm lawyers.

They impact companies of all sizes.

The Huffington Post has also realized this, and created a section of its website devoted to job opportunities. It’s mostly articles on tips for job seekers and hiring managers, with some job market theme-related content. The better part is the LinkedIN group, Opportunity: What is Working.

I jumped in with both feet before it was publicly launched, and have been keeping tabs on it. While there are some very strong opinions and conversation threads on what is not working, there are also threads that offer strategies for hiring and keeping employees. The group is a useful resource for solo and small firm lawyers as law firms are businesses, too, and face the same kinds of challenges in filling positions.

The hiring strategies shared here, coupled with the LinkedIN group created by the Huffington Post, provide solo and small firm lawyers with tips to hire, and keep, employees.
